The Story
Our parents built this community. They filled the masajid, raised the schools, and carried the weight of two worlds so their children could stand in one. They deserve a chapter of life designed for them — not a care home, and not a condo tower far from everything familiar.
Al Andalus is something new for Canada: a 55+ community, not a retirement home. Tawakkul acquires an established apartment building in the heart of the community and renews it for its next chapter — residences designed for independent living after 55, with a masjid raised on the property itself, so that prayer is steps from your door. Familiar streets, your own home, and the rhythm of faith at the centre of daily life.
The Canadian Council of Ahlus Sunnah (CCAS), under the guidance of Shaykh Abdi Munaf Solaiman, is the community partner behind Al Andalus. CCAS brings the community. Tawakkul brings the capital and the construction. Together we build what neither could build alone.

City of Mississauga Affordable Rental Housing Community Improvement Plan. Affordable units are those with rents at or below 100% of average market rent. Maximum monthly rents based on 2025 data, updated annually in accordance with the Provincial Affordable Residential Units for the Purposes of the Development Charges Act, 1997 Bulletin.
Mississauga sets household eligibility for these units at up to $97,479 per year, based on the sixth income decile from 2024 data. The City’s program is aimed at moderate-income renter households earning between $54,000 and $96,000 — households the City notes would need close to $100,000 a year to afford a one-bedroom at market rents.
These are the published benchmarks for Mississauga. They are not Tawakkul rents. Rents at this project have not been set and will be published before applications open.
